There are many things that can result from a single but meaningful thought. In this case, it was one that lingered in the mind of a breast cancer survivor- the thought of reaching out to others who were experiencing the same struggles, questionings, uncertainties as she. Read more...

Robert A.S.SuntayDear Friends,

It is a privilege for me to convey – with great pride and happiness – my heartfelt congratulations to the Project Pink Cancer Support Group on the staging of their 1st Invitational Pink Cup golf tournament. It is an honor for Carewell to have the dynamic and courageous members of Project Pink as partners in the much-needed effort to provide support, education, and hope to persons with cancer and their loved ones.

Cancer is a huge and growing concern. According to the American Cancer Society, there were 12 million new cases of cancer worldwide in 2007 alone, with nearly 7 million occurring in developing countries. In fact, estimates predict the number of global cancer cases to increase to 27 million by the year 2050.

In light of this ominous situation, it is imperative to vastly increase our efforts to provide resources and services to persons affected by this disease.

Your participation in this 1st Invitational Pink Cup will go a long way towards helping Project Pink raise the funds needed to establish its cancer support center in the southern sector of Manila. Through your help – and with the generous cooperation of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center – it will not be long before persons with cancer and their caregivers will have yet another place of respite and replenishment as they travel along their cancer journeys.

Thank you, and here’s wishing all of us only the very best as we strive to grow into an even more nurturing and supportive cancer community!
